For my service learning class in the Latino community I had the opportunity to do my service in the Central Coast Citizenship Project. The Central Coast Citizenship Project is located Hebbron Family Center 683 Fremont St. Salinas, Ca 93905. This project helps out people who want to become citizens. The Central Coast Citizenship Project offers classes in the language English and Spanish. They offer the classes three days per week Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00p.m. I attended Mondays and Thursdays. The material the citizenship class utilize is the one-hundred questions of history of the united States, the interview consists on personal questions and some questions about the history of the United States, and lastly the N-400 applications is about the person's identity. When I was assisting, my task was to help out the students individually by practicing with the the one-hundred questions and the interview for the citizenship test. In addition, I helped them to complete the N-400 application as well. In my perspective, it was an amazing experience . At the beginning I couldn’t find a place where to do my community service until i found this amazing site. I really enjoyed helping my community who needed help to be prepare for their citizenship test. But what I most admired from them is that they put other responsibilities aside and made times to assist for the citizenship classes. I am really proud to see adults from the citizenship classes to come back and tell us that they passed their citizenship test. These people who attend to the citizenship are people that are admirable for the effort they are putting and motivation to have a better life.
